Licinius I, 308-324. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 3.00 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 320. IMP LI-CINIVS AVG Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Licinius I to right. Rev. ROMAE A-ETERNAE / P - R / R S Roma seated right, inscribing with her right hand shield set on her left knee with X/V in two lines; at her side, shield. RIC 151. Extremely rare and with a beautiful portrait. Minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

This interesting piece shows Licinius I wearing a pseudo-Corinthian helmet, paired with the 'ROMAE AETERNAE' reverse. Only four such coins are known, one in Belgrade and three in the Ramskold collection. This one is by far the finest example from officina S.
